Funding Options for Skylights and Sun Tubes in New Zealand
ANZ Good Energy Home Loan
ANZ offers an interest-free loan of up to $80,000 for up to 3 years to help make homes more energy efficient. Eligible products include:
- Heat pumps
- Insulation
- Glazing – Double, secondary or triple glazing. Skylights and sun tubes may be eligible.
- Ventilation. Again skylights and sun tubes may be eligible.
- Water heating systems
Eligibility: You must have an existing ANZ home loan to apply.
Westpac Greate Choices Home Loan
With a Westpac Greater Choices home loan, you could get up to $50,000 interest free for five years to help you create a warmer, drier and more energy efficient home sooner. Insulation
- Heat pumps, including hot water heat pumps
- Insulation
- Double glazing
- Ventilation
- Solar power systems and batteries
- Rain water tanks
- Replacement of household gas appliances
- Electric car
- Electric vehicle charger.
Skylights and sun tubes may qualify if as part of double glazing and ventilation systems.
Kiwibank Sustainable Energy Loan
If you borrow more than $5,000, we’ll contribute up to $2,000 over four years towards the cost of the system – $800 at the end of the first year and $400 at the end of each of the following three years.
While not specifically listing skylights or sun tubes, these may be considered as part of your energy upgrade.
BNZ Green Home Loan top-ups
You could borrow up to $80,000 at a 1% p.a. 3 year fixed rate to pay for eligible upgrades to your home or for electric transport options.
- Solar panels, batteries, and inverters
- Heat pumps – fixed or ducted heat pump systems.
- Water heating – heat pump water heaters or solar water heaters.
- Insulation – ceiling, wall, or underfloor insulation.
- Window glazing – double, secondary or triple glazing.
- Ventilation – positive or balanced pressure ventilation systems
- Rainwater tanks – home water tanks
Skylights and sun tubes can qualify under passive heating, double glazing and ventilation.
